Troops under Andrew Jackson crossed the Tennessee River here as they advanced southward against the Red Stick Creeks.  

The crossing site is located on the grounds of the Ditto Landing (Huntsville-Madison County) Marina along the banks of the Tennessee River on Highway 231 south of Huntsville, Alabama. The
site, however, is unmarked.
