Fort Deposit

Fort Deposit served as one of Andrew Jackson’s primary
bases of supply during his campaign against the Red Sticks.
Built in October 1813, the fort was located on the Tennessee
River at the mouth of Thompson’s Creek, three miles
downriver from Gunter’s Landing.

The site of the fort lies near the present-day town of
Guntersville, Alabama, north of Guntersville Lake, near County
Road 14. There is no historical marker designating the site.
