Ellicott Stone
This stone, marking the 31st North Latitude, was placed by Andrew Ellicott during his survey of the U.S.-Spanish boundary in 1799 per the terms of the Treaty of San Lorenzo. The marked the southernmost border of the Mississippi Territory at the beginning of the War of 1812.
Ellicott Stone Historical Park is located a few hundred yards east of Highway 43 north of Mobile, Alabama.
