Fort Lawrence
Located on the banks of the Flint River opposite the Creek Agency, Fort Lawrence was constructed by General John Floyd’s troops in November of 1813 as it made its way from Fort Hawkins into Creek Territory.
The fort site is located in present-day eastern Taylor County, Georgia, along the banks of the Flint River. It is not marked, and its exact location is unknown. This image shows an area believed to be near the fort site, off GA Hwy. 137 overlooking the Flint River.
